I started to learn baseball when I was in college. I played in Tsinghua University League for about 3 years and won 3 championships with Team "BangBang". After I joined Cisco, I played 2B for a couple of seasons for team Cisco Kids in the Co-Ed league at Twin Creek Sports Complex. Now I am co-managing Yangtze Softball Club - a Chinese softball team in Bay Area, and I am playing SS there. We have been playing Adult Softball D-League in City of Palo Alto. Sometimes we win, most of the time we lose, but everyone has been really enjoying the fun together.
For more information see our Yangtze Softball Club website. And contact us if you are interested in playing too!
My dad is an artist. I was so inspired by his talent and aspiration that I started drawing and painting trainings when I was as little as 3. At the age of 6, one of my drawings appeared in China Daily , the No.1 official newspaper in China. In the rest of my childhood, I won various national painting awards. Although I chose computing as my career when I grew up, the art trainings I did in my early years made my life more enjoyable - I can better appreciate beautiful things in my life.
Looking at drawings and paintings from my childhood often brings back fond memories of the past.
Both my wife and I enjoy anime and manga. Sometimes I would try my hand a at making anime figure models. These figures are fun to look at but often hard to put together and paint.
I spent two sleepless days making this model of "Chii" or ちぃ as a gift to my then GF now wife in the new year of 2003. As most of the anime figures, it has a touching story behind it - Chii is a fictional character in the manga series Chobits and its anime adaptation. She is a Chobit, a type of persocom that is far more technologically advanced than regular persocoms, who possesses both machine intelligence and human feelings.
