Rides to Legislators
CMU's autonomous Cadillac SRX drove itself autonomously in and around Capitol Hill and Washington DC. Legislators led by Chairman Bill Shuster were given rides in the car.
This driverless vehicle looks normal on the inside and outside, but navigates highways, dense multi-lane traffic, traffic lights, and tunnels.
The loop around Capitol Hill is about 1.5 miles long, and the I-395 journey is about 6 miles.
