Legend:

M means that it is expected that you will modify this file starting with this project.
~ means that you may modify this file (to keep your design consistent) but it may or may not be necessary
An empty cell means that you are not allowed to modify this file because the contents are required to remain as they are, or because it will be used in a later project. If you think you need to modify a file that does not have an M or ~ entry, please obtain permission from the course staff first.

Note: This table is meant to be a GENERAL guideline to help you understand how your portfolio will develop throughout the semester. In some cases (in particular, the Requirements II document, but there may be others as well), some projects impose restrictions on what parts of the document may be modified. You should consult the project writeups for these specific details. If you have doubts about what should be modified, consult a TA in office hours.
