18-348 Lab Board Switch Configuration
Below are default switch and jumper positions for the lab boards. If you
have problems, double-check that everything is in the correct position. These
defaults are for USB power with the CPU module attached to the prototype board
so that programs can be loaded via project board USB. If you want to change power
configurations, see the power configuration
chart.
Default configuration: USB power (project board), +5V operation, I/O devices enabled, no
power brick used (no barrel connector power)
CPU module:
- Barrel connector for power: empty
- PWR_SEL VR1: off
- PWR_SEL VB: off
- PWR_SEL VX_EN: on
- COM_EN: off
- BDM_EN BKG: off
- BDM_EN RST: off
- USER 1: off
- USER 2: off
- USER 3: off
- USER 4: off
- USER 5: off
- USER 6: off
- USER 7: off
- USER 8: off
- USER 9: off
- USER 10: off
- USER 11: off
- USER 12: off
Project Board:
- Barrel connector for power: empty
- PWR_SEL: VIN
- +5V_SEL: USB
- VDD_SEL: +5V
- 15V_EN: off
- J301 (USB speed): empty
- LCD_EN MOSI: on
- LCD_EN MISO: on
- LCD_EN SCK: on
- CONTRAST: fix
- SS_SEL: SS*
- COM_SEL: COM
- COM_EN: all four jumpers on
- AMPL: on
- LED_EN: on
- MCU_COM: both jumpers on
- UFEA: all four jumpers off
- MOD_PWR VDD: on
- MOD_PWR GND: on
- All SW1 and SW2 DIP switches: off
- AMPL: on
Problem Solving:
If you have problems with reliability of data transfers or the board, try
any or all of the below modifications:
- Slow down USB transfer rate to reduce errors
- J301 (USB speed): "full" -- right and center pins (not left pin)
- Use power supply brick instead of USB power (USB is limited to 500 mA of
current)
- APS12C128 CPU module: PWR_SEL VR1: off
- APS12C128 CPU module: PWR_SEL VB: off
- APS12C128 CPU module: PWR_SEL VX_EN: on
- Project Board: PWR_SEL: VIN
- Project Board: +5V_SEL: PWR_SEL (very important to get this
right!)
- Project Board: Power supply connection: barrel connector
