The project board and module can be powered several different ways, as
describe below. For more details, see pp. 6-10 of the
MCU Project Board document
and pp. 10-12 of the
APS12C128
User's Guide . Also, see the default jumper
position document for other jumpers and switches.
Important note: NEVER connect a
power supply to the barrel connector on the APS12C128 module and the barrel
connector on the project board at the same time!
The following connections apply to all configurations (except the standalone
configuration):
This table shows the configuration of the remaining power-related jumpers:
Power Supply Connection | APS12C128 Module |
Project Board |
||
Configuration |
PWR_SEL | PWR_SEL |
+5V_SEL |
|
Power APS12C128 Stand-alone via Barrel Connector (no project board) | Barrel connector on APS12C128 module | Jumper VR1 connected Jumper VB disconnected Jumper VX_EN disconnected |
N/A | N/A |
Power APS12C128 Stand-alone via USB TBDML (no project board) | USB TBDML connector on APS12C128 module No barrel connector |
Jumper VR1 disconnected Jumper VB connected Jumper VX_EN disconnected |
N/A | N/A |
Power project board and APS12C128 via APS12C128 Barrel Connector | Barrel connector on APS12C128 module | Jumper VR1 connected Jumper VB disconnected Jumper VX_EN connected |
VIN | PWR_SEL |
Power project board and APS12C128 via Project Board Barrel Connector | Barrel connector on project board | Jumper VR1 disconnected Jumper VB disconnected Jumper VX_EN connected |
VIN | PWR_SEL |
Power project board and APS12C128 via project board USB1 | USB connector on project board No barrel connector |
Jumper VR1 disconnected Jumper VB disconnected Jumper VX_EN connected |
VIN | USB |
Note 1: This option does not power the +/- 15V rails. To power
the 15V rails, the power supply should be connected to the barrel connector on
the PROJECT BOARD and jumpers configured to the appropriate setting for that
case. It's OK to have the USB cable connected and a barrel connector so long as
+5V_SEL is NOT set to USB.
