My current research focus is on the area of affordable dependability, and in particular on ways to attain inexpensive graceful degradation of embedded systems.
"Dependability" in this case refers to a broad notion of what has historically been referred to as "fault tolerance", "reliability", or "robustness". A more specific definition for this term will be given shortly.
