Pi Day!!

The Women of ECE had expressed interest in increasing the number of social events each semester, so WinECE decided to celebrate Pi Day with apple and blueberry pie to sweeten the first day back to school. All ECE majors (men and women) were allowed to attend, many students took the time to emerge from their labs and celebrate the nerdiest holiday in the year.
Spring Welcome Dinner

The Spring Welcome Dinner is an annual event, which traditionally brings in a representative from industry. This year, WinECE was lucky enough to gathered together over dinner with Intel Representative Gabriella Gonzalez. In her presentation, Ms. Gonzalez shared the inspiring story of her rise as a successful female engineer and encouraged WinECE members to not only follow their dreams to become active members of the tech world, but to give back to the younger generation through outreach programs. Registration Mentoring WinECE/ HKN Event

WinECE and HKN are coming together to help advise ECE students about their upcoming schedules. All ECE students are encouraged to come join WinECE for advice, pizza and Eat Unique cookies.
WinECE Fall Welcome Dinner

Women@CS and WinECE were both invited to the 2010 Fall Welcome Dinner at the new Google offices in Pittburgh. Google provided an exciting tour of their offices where the girls learned about Google culture and practices. The girls also learned about scolarship opportunities, and were given assorted Google "swag". WinECE and Women@CS then joined Googlers for delicious appetizers and great conversation.
WinECE Freshman Mentoring Kickoff

Graduate and undergraduate women welcome freshman to the first mentoring event of the year after the first 18-100 exam. Upperclassmen talked to freshman about ECE, college, and life in general.
WinECE Welcomes New Sophomore Undergraduates

WinECE officers attended the Sophomore Welcome dinner to introduce WinECE to our newest members! WinECE staff advisor Susan Farrington and President Melody Li gave a short presentation about how sophmores can become more invovled. Afterwards, WinECE officers talked to girls about the organization, and helped students find their faculty members.
