Areas of interest:

Electrical and Computer Engineering, Signals and Systems, Embedded Systems

Ask me about:

ECE Outreach, Traveling, Music, Scotch and Soda Theater, Spanish (language), Knitting/Crocheting

Why did you choose ECE?:

The things we learn in this major are so interesting and so closely related to the technologies on which the modern world depends. I knew ECE would be the best major for me because it is the one in which I feel I can have the most direct positive influence on people's lives.

Why are you involved in WinECE?:

I chose WinECE because in a major as challenging and as male-dominated as ECE, it helps to have a group of people to support you who know exactly what you're going through. The small size of WinECE is ideal, because it makes it easy to get advice from upperclassmen in low pressure environments and to get acquainted with other ECE girls in your classes.

Who is your favorite superhero or character?:

Superboy (Young Justice)

Areas of interest:

Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Economics

Ask me about:

Being a buggy mechanic, traveling around the world, books to read, movies to watch

Why did you choose ECE?:

Everything in ECE is so dynamic and is constantly changing and developing with new technologies, and it's really stunning that our generation has the power to redefine how our world works.

Why are you involved in WinECE?:

There's no reason that women should be afraid to declare ECE, and I want to make sure incoming freshmen (and even current students) know that. Failure really is a learning experience, and I think that freshmen women don't understand that well enough and they let the difficulty of Intro to ECE scare them out of declaring ECE even if they're interested. I'm involved in WinECE to help those girls realize the potential they have and to tell them that it's not impossible to be a woman in ECE.

Who is your favorite superhero or character?:

My favorite book character is the Queen of Attolia from the Queen's Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner. She's clever and intelligent and despite her struggles, she's a striking character that I really admire.

What to do during summer, including: taking classes at Pitt, finding research, doing volunteer work, traveling

Why did you choose ECE?:

It was a natural choice for me, because I loved math and science since I was very young. It is a hard major, but all the concepts we learn are very interesting.

Why are you involved in WinECE?:

It's a great opportunity to get to know people in ECE, especially since everyone in this major is busy studying.
