As a first installment, the READINGS page now describes the topics/readings
for the first 3 weeks of class. The complete list will go up soon.
(Note that the papers we gave out in the first class meeting actually

read and summarize the right ones before each particular class.)
News (as of 9/13/2000)
In today's class, the first homework assignment (an undergrad OS
refresher) will be handed out. It is due at the beginning of the
next class: Monday, September 18. Feel free to print the postscript
from here and get an early start.
News (as of 9/12/2000)
As promised, 712's first meeting will be on Wednesday, Sept. 13 (today!).
Other than brushing up on your undergraduate OS material, you aren't
expected to have read anything in particular ahead of time. (A couple
of people asked.)
News (as of 8/4/2000)
Because of the SCS IC, 712's first meeting will be on Sept. 13.
Although the class does not officially start until then, anyone
planning to participate is strongly encouraged to make sure that
they are up to speed on the pre-requisite material -- because of
the lost time, 712 must start and progress quickly.
News (as of 8/1/2000)
It has been decided that this course will be offerred in Fall 2000.
This web page is only getting started -- the details should be
